Hi, this is Oliver Grendel Holmes, and I’m the newest member of Playpen’s blogging team. That’s not my real name, but I wish daily that my parents had had the good sense to make it so. There is a funny story about what my real name almost was, but I’ll tell you that another time. For now, let’s just stick to the facts.

I’ve lived in San Francisco for the last three years and the SF Bay Area for the last twenty, where I have been active in the nebulously defined sex-positive community, being poly-ish and kinky-ish; I’m more of a Kinky Salon person than a Citadel person, more of an OKCupid person than a Fetlife person, if those mean anything to you.  I’m kink-, nerd-, and porn-adjacent. I’ve had jobs selling comic books and teaching fencing to drunk people, and writing porn reviews, actual porn, and video game cheat guides.

I’ve spent time on the burgeoning San Francisco storytelling circuit, performing in front of audiences at Bawdy Storytelling, PorchlightSF, Memoir Spool and Fireside Storytelling, not to mention in front of nearly anyone who would stand still for a few minutes; I have, in fact, been telling stories in front of people now for long enough that I no longer have panic attacks about it. I am the winner of several of the prestigious Brookfield School’s coveted Good Speller awards, and once I won a bird whistle on a radio show. I once committed an act of piracy on the high seas, but have still managed to be an under-achiever.

Among my other interests are such things as parallel parking, flirting, writing awesome Craigslist ads that get virtually no response from a tragically uncaring population (although recently a girl came all the way from Canada to make out with me because of one), and making out. My life goal is to be the world’s first and best snuggling-only male escort.

I’m currently exploring the world of dating while in a non-monogamous but still committed relationship here in San Francisco. Stay tuned for the exciting details of how that goes.
